Thank you to all who have supported us this year.
G’day,
Woah, what a year eh? It’s crazy for us to think that Revive the Northern Rivers didn’t exist at the start of 2021. We just wanted to say thanks for your support. Without you, our community out there, we wouldn’t be where we are today. To all the people who bought a sticker, or a shirt, or came to an event – we appreciate your involvement. To those who took the opportunity this year to have a yarn about the future of our ecosystems with their friends, parents, kids or bosses – thank you. Conversations spark ideas and when there’s enough ideas floating around action usually follows. It’s been a pretty cool year behind the scenes here at RTNR and we feel really lucky to have become a kind of magnet for good news in the Northern Rivers. There’s plenty of it out there but we don’t always get to hear those stories. We’ve been fortunate enough to visit new pockets of the region we call home and everywhere we go it feels like there’s a change in the air. People from all walks of life are realising that our precious ecosystems don’t just take care of themselves; that we need to be custodians for these places, like the original caretakers. And you know the best thing – we're starting to stand up and do something about it.
We believe that the kind of change we need, and the pace with which it needs to be implemented to safeguard our future, will not come solely from our governments. It will come from communities as well – from people like you.
We’ve got some great things planned for 2022 – walks, talks and even a paddle or two. Keep an eye on the website for more details. Big Scrub tee sizes are selling out too so get in quick if you’re keen to snap one up!
We’re taking a break until January 10. Catch you in 2022. When you’re out and about this summer, don’t forget to look up.
Cheers,
The Rivers Crew
