Come and plant some trees!

Last year we mentioned that some funds from the RTNR Flood relief fund were being put aside to implement nature-based solutions to flood resilience in the Richmond catchment.

After shopping around for a suitable site, we were able to come together with a collective of local organisations – both local government and community-based – to contribute $15,000 to continue regeneration works along the Wilsons River near the old Trinity Catholic College site.

This planting program began over ten years ago as a partnership between Wilsons River Landcare and a number of local schools. Since then hundreds of kids have contributed to riparian restoration works which have come a long way from denuded banks to full canopy cover!

Thanks to Wilsons River Landcare, Rous County Council, Envite, Lismore City Council & Big Scrub Regeneration for the partnership to bring people together and get some trees in the ground.

Come on down to the Wilsons River to celebrate National Tree Day and contribute to flood resilience and river health in your local catchment. We'll see ya there!
